Maruti Suzuki WagonR EV Ready For Launch, Caught Under Testing
Country’s leading car making company Maruti Suzuki India is also going to step into the electric vehicle segment of the country. The first electric vehicle for the stable of Indo-Japanese carmaker will be its best selling hatchback WagonR. Although the company has not yet revealed its launch date. It is believed the launch event will take soon as the spies have captured its ready version undergoing the test drive. The electric WagonR looks identical to its existing version with the logo of electric WagonR studded on the front and rear portions. Earlier also the spies have captured electric WagonR during test drive during the month of December 2020.
According to sources earlier the company had confirmed that EV WagonR will be launched for fleet and commercial operators in the initial stage. It is believed that WagonR EV might be launched in the months of August and September and priced in the range of Rs. 9 lakh to Rs. 11 lakh. It is rumored that this year the Indian car market will be flooded with a number of electric cars launching in the Indian car market.
The home grown carmakers like Mahindra & Mahindra, Tata Motors are also expected to extend the fleet of their electric vehicles. Tata Motors will launch the electric Altroz hatchback, Mahindra is readying to launch the electronic KUV100 and XUV300. On the other side after getting his electric car registered in India, Elon Musk is also ready to launch the first electric car from his yard. The first electric car from Tesla in the Indian car market will be Model 3. It is believed to be priced in the range Rs. 55 lakh to Rs. 60 lakh.
