Maruti to Boost the Production of Baleno Hatchback
With growing demand and increasing wait for Baleno hatchback, the Indian arm of Indo-Japanese duo Maruti Suzuki India Limited to enhance its production. According to reports MSIL is planning to commence the production of Baleno hatchback from its production unit located in Hansalpur, Gujarat, and speculates to manufacture about 10,000 units of Baleno from this unit. Reports also reveal that Indo-Japanese car maker are going to make an investment of 1,400 million Dollars for enhancing the production efficiency of this plant and speculate to manufacture 2.5 lakh vehicles manufactured in it. It is also revealed that apart from manufacturing Baleno from this production unit, company will continue the production of Baleno from its existing production unit, doing this will help the car makers to minimize the waiting period of Baleno to huge extent.
Commenting on this Mr. R.C.Bhargava, Chairman, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said,"The whole project (Gujarat) is on schedule. We will be selling cars from made in Gujarat from February. That remains, there is no change in that. During this financial year about 10,000 cars from Gujarat will be produced and delivered to us for sale."
With India as one of the strongest markets for Japanese car maker Suzuki, the parent company will supply the components and vehicles will be sending to their production unit located in Gujarat. The Japanese automaker holds 56% of shares in this joint venture, which is recognized as one of the leading car maker in country. The existing production units of MSIL are located in Gurgaon and Manesar from where it produces about 1.5 million units annually. With all these preparations, MSIL is also going to launch its highly awaited mini cross-over Ignis in Indian car market sometimes during the next month. The production of Ignis will take place at its Gurgaon production unit.
