Mercedes Benz a Class receives 40 k pre orders, launch later this year
Mercedes Benz is getting a huge response for its upcoming A Class hatchback. Expected to be priced Rs 15 lakh, the A Class hatchback has reportedly got over 40,000 units booking worldwide. The car is expected to be launched worldwide this year is creating a sensation even before its launch. In India as well, it has triggered other rivals including BMW and Audi in addition to Volvo to pitch in similar segment products. The Mercedes Benz A Class price is expected to be Rs 20 lakh to Rs 22 lakh and a near Diwali or later this year launch is what on the cards.

The immense 40k pre orders is a matter of joy for the car maker and this will also expedite the A Class launch process. The number of pre order bookings is also high as this will be the most affordable Mercedes car and getting in the lot will be easier for people. It is also expected that since the A Class targets young car buyers and the average age of the car buyer has reduced in the recent years, the A Class has got a good response and it is expected to have huge response in the future as well.

Internationally, the A Class will be competing with BMW 1 Series hatchback, Volvo V40 hatchback, Audi A3 hatchback, Lexus CT hatchback, Volkswagen Golf hatchback, and Hyundai i30 hatchback. Also, its availability in petrol and diesel models will increase its ambit and will include many rivals both from the hatchback segment as well as from the sports hatchback category. The A Class will be powered by 1.5 L K9K diesel engine which will be supplied by Renault. It will be offered in six speed manual and seven speed dual clutch automatic variants. It will be based on the MFA platform. In India, the A Class will be produced locally so as to keep the prices low.
