Mercedes Benz M Class ML 250 CDI Launched at Rs 46.5 lakh

The Indian unit of one of the leading German luxury car manufacturer Mercedes Benz has launched their much awaited Mercedes Benz M Class ML 250 CDI model in the Indian market. The new luxury Sports Utility Vehicle has been shelved at the price tag of Rs 46.5 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi. In the Indian auto market, new ML Class model will be competing with the rivals like Audi Q5 and BMW X3, both of which have already been introduced in the country.

The Mercedes Benz M Class ML 250 CDI is a full size luxury SUV that comes powered by a comparatively smaller 2.2-litre four-cylinder diesel engine.  The powerful engine of the car, which also powers other popular Merc models like Mercedes Benz C Class and Mercedes Benz E Class, delivers a peak power of 204 bhp along with a peak torque of 500 Nm.

By using a 2.2L powertrain, in comparison to its rival Audi Q5’s 3.0 TDI motor and BMW X3’s 3.0L engine, Mercedes Benz India has been enabled to price this car more competitively. The launch of new ML Class with a smaller engine and competitive price tag can be seen as a big step ahead in the direction of boosting their market share in the India luxury SUV segment.

The ML Class model is loaded with a range of new age safety, styling and comfort & convenience features, along with carrying a fascinating road presence.

Meanwhile, the company is working aggressively to win battle of top position in India against its arch rivals BMW and Audi. The company has announced to roll-out their new age compact cars in the Indian market, where Mercedes Benz B Class has become the lowest price Mercedes Car in India at Rs 21 lakh (ex-showroom Maharashtra). The firm has registered a sales dip of 24 percent in the first four months of this financial year.
