Mercedes Benz plans big for India
The German luxury car maker, Mercedes Benz has big plans for Indian in 2013. The car maker has zeroed on introducing five new cars in the Indian car market during this year. The company is planning to bring in Mercedes Benz AMG spec GL-Class, Mercedes Benz E Class, Mercedes Benz A-Class Sports hatchback, and Mercedes Benz CLA sedan. All these cars are likely to be assembled in India at the Chakan assembly plant of the firm located near Pune. These cars will be brought to India via CKD route, which means the firm could keep an eye on the prices and keep them competitive and decent.

Starting from new Mercedes Benz GL Class SUV, this one would be refurbished in style, which would resemble a bit to M-Class model of Merc. This will be pitted against Audi Q7. Under the hood, 3.0-Litre V6 turbo diesel engine will be on duty coupled with Seven-Speed automatic transmission. The petrol variant might come as a variant as well with AMG option.
Next on the list is the 2014 Mercedes Benz E Class, which would be giving a tough fight to BMW 5-Series. The car is expected to come with the same engine options, but there will a host of changes on the outside and inside. The refreshed styling along with some superior comfort and safety features would adorn this car.
2013 Mercedes Benz A-Class Sports hatchback is another one that would see the sunlight in the Indian car bazaar this year, based on the MFA platform the car would be made valuable in both turbo diesel and turbo petrol options.The last one on the list is Mercedes Benz CLA sedan, which has been derived from A-Class model. Apparently, this model will range around Rs. 25 lakhs and would be based on the same MFA platform. Even this one would be offered in both diesel and petrol engine options.
