Mitsubishi Pajero Sport to be assembled in China soon, price slash underway
Mitsubishi Pajero Sport SUV is soon to be produced in China as the company has witnessed a spur in demand for this car. Once the company begins the local production, there will be a huge price concession and the fresh price tag is going to make this car a huge success in the biggest car market in Asia. In addition to the local production, the car will also see some minor changes here and there in order to suit to the local demands and localization. These stylistic changes will be restricted to the exteriors and interiors. Back in India, the Pajero Sport is a prime rival of the segment leader Toyota Fortuner and has a price tag of Rs 21.80 lakh. At this price, the car is a little pricier than the Fortuner.
As per the information, the car will see a local production starting the mid of this year and a soon as the production starts, the car maker will be slashing the price of the SUV. Currently the car is being imported as a completely built unit and auto industry analysts see a big potential for this car in China. As Mitsubishi is coming up with China specific model, the car has more chances of being accepted instantly. As part of the changes, the car will have a new grille and revised front appearance besides some cosmetic changes on the outside.
The 2.5 L petrol powered engine will continue to do its duty under the hood of the car and for those who need some extra power will have the 3 L petrol motor option as well. Being one of the best selling luxury SUVs in India, Pajero Sport is already assembled in the country and is also offered in diesel engine option as diesel engine powered cars are popular in the country.
