New Audi R8 launched, price start at Rs 1.35 crore

Luxury car maker Audi has launched the new Audi R8 in India. The new price of the car starts at Rs 1.35 crore ex showroom New Delhi. It is believed that this car launch will reiterate Audi’s position in the sports car segment. The new R8 has been made more styling and now has a host of new features to take on Porsche 911, Bentley Continental GT, Lamborghini Gallardo and Ferrai 599 GTB Fiorano quite well. It is also believed that this new version will be able to strengthen Audi’s position in the segment well. With this second launch in less than a month’s time, it is also said that Audi is on a highly aggressive front and it is expected that with the local assembly and price reduction of Audi Q3, this car maker will be able to accede to the top slot in the luxury car segment well before the targeted year 2015.

Audi India Head Michael Perschke has shared the future plans of this German car maker and had reportedly told media persons that the car maker is on a launch spree in the country this year along with local production of some of the cars. Its SUV Audi Q3 will be assembled later this year in the country and this will help the car giant to get an edge over others. But other car makers have also scheduled local assembly plans and it will be a tough fight this year between the car giants.
 
Meanwhile, the recent launch of the new Audi Q5 has been a success as the car maker has received over 250 bookings. Sensing the trend, Audi India expects that it will be a key player in the market and soon it will attain the top position. In 2012, the company has sold over 9003 cars and it was just 300-400 units short of what BMW has sold. This year the car maker expects a growth rate of around 20 percent.
