New Maruti Ritz AT launched, price starts at Rs 6.15 lakh

Unbelievable at this juncture and time of the year but it is true. The new Maruti Ritz’s long awaited automatic version has arrived. The Ritz Automatic version price is Rs 6.15 lakh and this is believed to be the right adieu to 2012. The automatic transmission is available on the top model of the petrol variant. There is a four speed transmission box under the hood of Ritz AT. It is believed that the new Ritz AT launch will position the car at a better position in its segment and the price of this model will take it further. Maruti has updated the prices of its cars on its website as well.  

Now the new Ritz is available in petrol and diesel manual options and the automatic version as well. The petrol version Ritz VXI is powered by 1.2 L K Series engine that has become the moniker for Maruti cars and it outputs over 84 bhp power with 114 Nm torque. Whereas the diesel manual transmission powered car is available with a 1.3 L Fiat sourced multijet engine. The manual gearbox has five gears while the automatic version of Ritz has four speeds. The VXI version is the top model in petrol and it comes with a host of safety features such as anti lock braking system besides electronic brakeforce distribution.  

Mostly notably, the price of the Ritz Automatic will take it a lot further as compared to its rival Hyundai i10 Automatic as it comes at an affordable price. It will also be heading for a sales growth in the coming months as it could emerge as the single most viable and the most affordable car in the segment as it is priced less, has more space than cars such as Honda Brio and it also comes with a lot of safety features. This said, the Ritz could drive in the much awaited Automatic cars reform in India as now even automatic cars in a reasonable price band and anybody who hates the third paddle specially in the cities will go for the Ritz AT. However, the worry that petrol prices may shoot up anytime could mar its prospects.
