New Maruti Ritz launch anytime from now

The facelift version 2012 Maruti Ritz hatchback is nearing its launch in India and has been quite frequently spotted testing in India. Meanwhile, the new Ritz has been unveiled in Japan as Suzuki Splash. However, its launch and sale will commence coming months in there. The Maruti car that has done pretty well in India and has been on the focus of people who wish to have an entry level diesel hatchback and as an option to Tata Indica and others. With the launch of Chevrolet Beat Diesel, the market for entry level diesel hatchback is almost one sided. Having a tall boy stature, the Ritz looks more like a small MPV.

The 2012 Maruti Ritz has also appeared on the Suzuki Japan website showing some features that the Ritz lovers were long craving for. A new grill at the front and a slight uplift of appearance of the front looks with the new headlamps and new bumper is worth noting. Besides, Maruti seems to have heard the design criticisms by the customers and the curved rear has apparently been made slightly flat that could be increasing the space inside. However, it will have a lot of impact on the overall styling of the Ritz and it will be more appealing than before.

The new Ritz under the hood department will more or less be the same with a little increase in power output due to the 1.2 L K Series engine that will be powering it. This is the engine that is also found on the new Maruti Swift as well. The Fiat sourced 1.3 L multijet engine is expected to do its duty right giving the new Ritz performance and mileage hand in hand. The new Ritz will come with the same 5 speed manual gearbox and expecting an automatic version will be expecting too much from the hatchback. Significant additions to the interiors have been made in the form of enhanced quality of materials more like the Maruti Swift and the Maruti Swift Dzire.
