New Mercedes cars launching in India to strengthen its sales
Mercedes Benz as a part of its plan to expand its portfolio in India will release five small cars to its portfolio in order to drive past its German counterparts, BMW and Audi and regain its lost glory as the number one luxury car maker. Mercedes Benz until now has been offering luxury saloons, but now the company will foray in the small and compact car segment with around five new small cars. The five new small cars that the company is planning to launch in India include Mercedes Benz A Class, Mercedes Benz B Class, the prototype of the CSC displayed at the Beijing Motor Show, a crossover conceived on the MFA Platform dubbed GLC and another model on which no details have been emerged. It also includes the new Mercedes M Class that is likely to be launched in a few days.

Let us throw some more light on the revamped M Class. The car will initially enter the domestic market through CBU route. The dimensions of the five seater SUV are as follow, the SUV is 23mm longer and 15mm wider than its antecedent. Apart from this the height of the SUV has also been sliced by 23mm. The exteriors of the M Class have also been retouched and it now sports a slightly noticeable wheel arches and reworked headlights. These modifications render the SUV more sporty and compelling look.
The company has worked copiously on the chassis and to improve its influential quality, special emphases has been given to the double wishbone suspension setup of the SUV. The change in the suspension setup will proportionally affect the rise and handling quality of the vehicle. Mercedes Benz India mulls to launch the ML 350 CDI in the domestic market first. The ML350 CDI comes equipped with a powerful engine that pumps out more power and torque than its antecedent.

The SUV will be rendered in all wheel drive system complementing the 7G-Tronic automatic transmission. The car will come be offered in other engine options, but that will happen later. Now comes the most important part, the price of the car that will decide its fate in the domestic market. If rumours are to be believed, the new M Class will be priced at around Rs 69 lakh. Depending on the demand of the SUV, it could be assembled locally which will certainly pull down the price of the car.
