New Mitsubishi Outlander launched, India entry awaited

Japanese auto maker Mitsubishi has infused a fresh life into its most happening SUV – Mitsubishi Outlander. The new Outlander has been launched in Japan and it is more refined both in terms of looks and features than the outgoing generation. This Mitsubishi SUV has already made it presence felt in Russia and Europe where it was already launched and it is in these regions that the SUV has received much response. Also, as per some auto industry critics, the new Outlander is less aggressive in looks than the last generation and it seems that Mitsubishi wishes to hide its aggressive performance under the garb of a docile looks. In India, the Mitsubishi Outlander price is Rs 20.55 and it is in straight fight with the recently launched Mahindra Rexton besides other arch rivals such as Skoda Yeti, Ford Endeavour, Chevrolet Captiva and the docile Maruti Grand Vitara.

The new Outlander front has received the major facelift and it is observably changed than the earlier generation car. The new car also has revamped fenders and the bumpers have also received the touch of perfection. Meanwhile, the obvious other changes are the new design headlamps, grille and the bonnet lines. There have also been some changes to the side and the rear looks while the tail lamp cluster which is entirely new is a worth change on the new car.

Available in 2L 148 bhp and 2.4 L 170 bhp worldwide, the new generation car is a petrol powered car and it comes with six speed automatic transmission option. However, the absence of a diesel variant still mars its prospects worldwide specially in India that has gone diesel these days. In Japan, the new Outlander price is equivalent to Rs 20.93 lakh. Hope to see this upgrade soon in India.

Wow! What a makeover/re-freshment has been given to the luxury. Sure now it will take on Captiva, Endeavour and Fortuner. Price is also competitive and now the company should also launch this one in India.
