New Mitsubishi Outlander unveiled, Pajero Sport launching next month
Mitsubishi, Japanese car maker has unveiled the new version of its SUV Mitsubishi Outlander just ahead of the Geneva Motor Show. As per reports, the Outlander now has a plug-in hybrid added to its family. Recently the car maker has unveiled the new Outlander hybrid as PX-MiEV II concept at the Tokyo Motor Show. Besides small touches here and there, the new Outlander preserves the same agile looks and power. However, there has been a treatment given by Mitsubishi to the front, headlamps, grill and both the bumpers. The new looks will certainly step up its prospects over BMW X3 and Land Rover Range Rover Discovery which are its prime rivals in the SUV market. Meanwhile reports are also coming in that Mitsubishi Pajero Sport is soon to have its 2012 model coming up in March.

As per the new Mitsubishi Outlander images unveiled recently, the new SUV now has a new front. The Xenon headlamps have become round in shape with a new grille in between and a front bumper just beneath the grille. The rear bumper has also undergone change and look best on the new Outlander. The outside rear view mirror shape has also been made more aerodynamic and bold. Overall, though the SUV preserves its characteristic shape and attire. The new Outlander interiors are reportedly the same as the present model and has only few changes.

The Pajero Sport on the other hand is a more trendier and sporty version of the Mitsubishi senior Pajero. Similar to new Outlander, the new Pajero Sport is expected to gets new looks and much more comfortable and mesmerizing interiors. The new Pajero seven seater for India will be powered by a 2.5L turbo diesel engine and five speed manual gearbox and will be equipped with a four wheel drive system. Since the new Pajero Sport is expected to arrive in a completely knocked down(CKD) state, India can expect a lower price and speedy delivery. The new Pajero Sport is expected to be imported from Thailand.

Whereas the Outlander’s new model has more focus on comfort and the images of the interiors reveal that there is padding and use of soft feel plastics inside. The dash too has received a makeover with some touches of convenience on the steering wheel. The new Outlander has now a Forward Collision Mitigation System that protects infallibly against front collision. Besides, there is also all time cruise control and a warning system that warns as soon as the new Outlander shifts to other lane. The engine is expected to be the same 2L MIVEC petrol and diesel options. Recently Mitsubishi has decided to stop production of Outlander at it Dutch plant and so the new Outlander will be produced at the Europe plant instead.
