New Mitsubishi Pajero Sport launching on Monday

Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, one of the most awaited sports utility vehicles (SUVs) in the Indian market, is all set to be launched in the country on 12th March. Following a long wait and delays, the company has now officially announced to launch the SUV in the Indian market on Monday. Earlier, the SUV was scheduled to be launched in the Indian market in year 2011, but a Tsunami in Japan followed by devastating floods in Thailand forced the company to reschedule its plans.

Initially, the company will launch the Pajero Sport as a CBU (Completely Built Unit) in the Indian market. However, company is likely to assemble the SUV in India itself in the coming years. The major rivals of the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport include Toyota Fortuner, Honda CR-V, Renault Koleos, Ford Endeavour, Chevrolet Captiva and Nissan X-Trail.

The Pajero Sport will be carrying a 2.5 litre diesel engine at its heart, delivering a peak power of 178 PS along with a peak torque of 400 NM. The fuel efficiency of the car will be higher as compared to its predecessor at 12 km per liter. The power packed engine of the SUV come incorporated with an advanced All Wheel Control Super Select 4WD system, which further boosts its performance. The SUV will come equipped with a number of technological features that make it equally efficient on both on and off road journeys.

Carrying 3 rows (7 seats) with flexible front seats, the new Pajero Sport seating can be easily adjusted as per the needs and requirements. The company will be offering a number of active and passive safety features with the new Pajero Sport including ABS (antilock braking system) and EBD (electronic brake-force distribution), Dual front airbags, etc.
