New small car launches in 2013
There are over nine cars that will be rocking the under Rs 5 lakh car segment in the country and will be bulging the segment further. Already well populated with cars such as Tata Nano, Maruti Alto 800, Chevrolet Spark and others, the small car under Rs 5 lakh segment is the hottest as well as it caters to the demand of the major chunk of Indian middle class population. In order make this segment more happening and more lucrative almost all the companies have chalked out aggressive strategy for 2013.

The small car Tata Nano will be arriving in two of its much awaited variants – Nano diesel and Nano CNG. These are expected to arrive sometime in the first half of the next year and the price will be in the range of Rs 2 lakh to Rs 2.5 lakh. On the other hand Ford has decided to launch a compact car based on the Figo hatchback. This will have a price tag of around Rs 2.8 lakh to Rs 4 lakh and a near November ’13 launch is what the experts predict. With the demand for small car Maruti AStar dwindling in other countries, Maruti will be launching it in India in a new version. The new A Star will be priced around Rs 3.7 lakh and it will be arriving by the mid of next year. The Koreans on the other hand will be launching the new Hyundai i10 which will carry a price tag starting at Rs 3.5 lakh and its launch is slated the next year.

Another car Chevrolet Beat that has got tremendous response for its diesel variant will see a facelift in the mid of next year. Meanwhile, the electric car Mahindra E2O will be launching next month and its price tag will be starting at around Rs 4.5 lakh. It will be Nissan that will also be debuting its low cost car brand Datsun in India sometime late next year. These cars will be in the price range of Rs 4 lakh to Rs 6 lakh. Yet another small car Volkswagen Up! is also all set to be launched in India in May-June next year. This car will have a price starting at Rs 4 lakh. The last but not the least is the one small car from Fiat’s stable. It will be the Fiat Punto Evo that will have a price of Rs 4.5 lakh and a mid ’13 launch is on cards.
