New Suzuki Alto (A-star) launched

The Maruti A Star has been the export miracle for Maruti India but the recent outbreak of violence and consequent lockout at the Manesar plant has dampened its prospects temporarily. But it is still the best selling Maruti Suzuki hatchback. Known as Suzuki Alto in some of the markets, the A Star has got a new avatar in China after a series of test mules being spotted on the Chinese roads. The new Alto has been launched at the Chengdu Auto Show and it is expected to be rocking China. The A Star price in China starts at 39900 Yuan which is approximately Rs. 3.5 lakh and the top of the line A Star model price is 64300 Yuan which comes out to be Rs. 5.6 lakh in Indian currency.

As per the reports, the new Alto (known as A Star in India) has lots of features that will be making the car a worth buy. The exterior appearance of the new car is now bolder and it has got new headlamps that are different from the bubble shaped ones on the outgoing generation of the car. On the front, the new grille also picks up attention following its new design. The front bumpers and fog lamps are new and perfectly match with the overall appearance of the car. With such new looks, the new A Star has made its stand stronger than the Hyundai i10 and other rival cars.

The new A Star rear has also received a major facelift with the new tail lamps and the rear bumper. On the inside as well the new A Star has received some of the best ever changes and with new upholstery and better plastics, it is believed that it will be able to offer up market luxury at low price. Now that China has the new avatar of the A Star, India is also believed to get the facelift. However, the demand for this car is less and thus Maruti could refrain investing time and money on this model but it could launch it customarily.
