Next gen Hyundai i20 compact sedan platform to replace Accent
Hyundai Motors, the South Korean car manufacturer is looking forward to launch soon the 2012 Hyundai i20 Fluidic in the Indian market with few minor facelifts rather than the overall change in the model. The 2012 i20 Fluidic is speculated to get fluidic impressions on the front and rear profile however, the side glance will remain almost similar to its current version. In addition, no changes are expected to be made in the engine of 2012 i20 Fluidic. Besides the i20 Fluidic, the car maker is also proceeding with next generation i20 which is expected to be brought on the shores in coming two or three years.

This next generation i20 machine is expected to be totally distinct and would carry new engines with entirely different looks.
Furthermore, the next generation i20 platform could also be utilized to bring in a mid-size sedan that will compete with cars like Maruti Swift Dzire, Toyota Etios and Tata Manza. At present, the auto-giant Hyundai is bit struggling with its entry level sedan Hyundai Accent and that too is available in the petrol engine option, therefore, it is unable to compete with cars that have diesel in-lines available. To bring a new compact sedan, the company would like share the next generation i20 platform and speculations are that this compact sedan would be priced below the Verna Fluidic.

Moreover, this compact sedan from Hyundai might have length less than four meters that would make it perfect for the entry level sedan fleet and it could also get the excise duty benefits on entry level sedans availed by the domestic government. So far, other details of next generation i20 are not yet confirmed but it is likely that Hyundai would bring this compact sedan in both petrol and diesel in-line options.
