Next generation Hyundai i20 to land on August 15, 2014
Hyundai Motors India Limited the Indian alliance of Korean car maker Hyundai Motors is going to launch the upgraded version of its hatchback i20 in Indian car market on August 15, 2014. Alike the erstwhile version the new Hyundai i20, 2014 would be also launched in petrol and diesel disguises. Industry players believe that the new i20 will be mainly based on European platform of hatchback. It is also speculated that the price of new Hyundai i20 would be higher than the existing price of hatchback.

It is believed that the car maker will continue the existing engine configurations in both petrol and diesel trims. The petrol version would be equipped with 1.2 litre Kappa petrol engine boosting the power of 83 PS and torque of 114 Nm. The engine will be coated with manual gearbox and could also be offered with option of automatic transmission system. the diesel variant on the other hand would be energized with 1.4 litre diesel engine churning the power of 90PS and torque of 220Nm. It will be also mated with manual transmission gearbox. There is doubt regarding the availability of automatic transmission system in diesel variant.
Discussing the changes that will be offered in Hyundai i20, 2014 it will embellish newly developed headlamps, new bumpers at both front and rear, new fog lamps, new ORVMs with turn indicators, new rear spoiler and many more. It is reported that the new i20 would carry more luxurious and comfort features as compared to existing version of i20. After launch it is expected to be a tough contender to Volkswagen Polo, Fiat Punto Evo, Honda Jazz, and Maruti Suzuki Swift.
