Next Generation of Hyundai Grand i10 Nios Debuts In India
Hyundai Motors India Limited has finally launched the next generation of Grand i10 hatchback with new Nios as a suffix. The price of new Hyundai Grand i10 Nios starts from Rs. 4.99 lakh for its entry level trim for the petrol variant and Rs. 6.70 lakh for the diesel variant. Both the prices are ex-showroom price, New Delhi. It would be interesting to know that Grand i10 hatchback by the Korean car maker is one of the best selling vehicles by the car maker in India and therefore receives the new Grand i10 Nios before its launch in the European car market. According to the reports the i10 Nios will be sold identically to Grand i10 in the Indian car market. Representing the exact meaning of its word Nios, the new Grand i10 receives new design and contemporary features as compared to its elder sibling.
Engine configuration: Under the hood, the Nios continues to be empowered with the existing 1.2 litre engines in both petrol and diesel variants. The petrol variant generates the power of 82 bhp and the torque of 114Nm, while diesel boosts the power of 74 bhp and the torque of 190Nm. The transmission duties are performed by five speed manual and five speed AMT transmission system in both the variants. The petrol variant with manual transmission system is reported to deliver an average of 20.7 kmpl followed by an average of 20,2 kmpl delivered by the AMT petrol variant. The diesel variants with manual and automatic transmission system are endorsed to deliver an average of 26.2 kmpl.
Exterior: On the exterior front it receives totally new front fascia based on the global design language. The front portion receives the set of new headlamp cluster with projector lamps followed by a new front grille with boomerang LED DRLs mounted inside the grille. The fog lamps in the new Grand i10 Nios receive triangular housing. The side profile receives floating roof, new alloy wheels, and rising window line with chrome door handles.
Interior: The interior of the new i10 Nios is miles ahead from its previous generation. Inside the cabin it receives the features like eight inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports connectivity with smartphone. The steering wheel and air conditioner vents are outsourced from the recently launched compact SUV Venue. The new ivory-grey fabric upholstery further enhances the looks of interior by giving it a premium look.
