Nissan Global Foundation confers scholarship on IIT–Madras duo for 2012

In alliance with the IIT Madras, Nissan conferred two IIT Madras students with the Nissan Global Foundation Scholarship. The two students, namely Mr. Siddharth Dialani and Mr. Naveen Nikamanth, both got the honor and won the Nissan Global Foundation Scholarship. The selection process was extremely crucial and consists of a joint committee of IITM and Nissan Global Foundation. During the selection process, the students went through very tough process that comprised of numerous tests and interviews. These were taken in order to assess the leadership and technical abilities of the competitors. Under this scholarship, the winner would get a golden opportunity to attend a training programme at the headquarters of Nissan located in Japan along with an internship at RNTBCI (Renault Nissan Technology and Business Centre India Pvt Ltd) and a financial grant for two whole years. Furthermore, Nissan is busy with other things as well. The company has involved itself in numerous research projects with IITM in the field of automobile technology. The company also runs ‘Nissan Support Program’ that promotes R&D projects at IIT Madras in various domains, such as Humanities, Managements, Science, Social Sciences, and Engineering. Five projects are chosen from thousands that are funded by the company each year at IITM. This shows the commitment of Nissan in the sphere of research and education in the country.
