Nissan Motors August sales rise on the back of Sunny and Micra

Nissan Motors India is riding high on success these days with a high growth rate which the company posted for the month of August this year. Nissan registered a high growth rate of 185.6 per cent in August 2012 at 3953 units sold in last month. Last year in the month of August, the company sold only 1384 units which showed the low popularity of the brand in the domestic market.

Nissan India’s popular model Nissan Sunny sedan which was launched in year last year is quite popular among masses. Also Nissan Micra hatchback is pretty popular though not as much as Sunny sedan. The accrued sales of both the models stood at 3944 units in August 2012. Nissan Teana, the premium sedan, Nissan X-Trail SUV and Nissan 370Z cult sports car accounted for rest of the sales.

Mr. Takayuki Ishida from Nissan Motors stated that the company has managed to reach new heights thanks to its new vehicle Nissan Sunny sedan and the old vehicle already present in India for quite some time Nissan Micra hatchback. Nissan Sunny sedan which is manufactured locally in India has been doing pretty well in India ever since its launch in the domestic market since last year.

He further mentioned that the company is now gearing up to launch Nissan Evalia MPV in the Indian car market which is exhibited at the 11th Auto Expo held in New Delhi in the month of January. The vehicle will be manufactured locally in India at its Chennai facility. Nissan Evalia will be launched in the Indian car market by the end of this month.

Director Marketing & Sales, Hover Automotive, Mr. Nitish Tipnis mentioned that, there has been a constant rise in the sales of Nissan Indian every month. He also stated that in the coming months they anticipate to see further surge in the monthly sales especially during the festive season.

On the other hand, Nissan retail network is expanding with a constant pace. In the month of August only, the company proclaimed launch of new dealerships in Mumbai, Ludhiana, Chandigarh and Noida. After the company opened new dealerships in these places the total dealer network touched the mark of 73 in the entire nation.
