Nissan Sunny and Micra to be costlier by 2 per cent
Japanese auto major Nissan Motors has also started to feel the squeeze of depreciating Indian rupee as it announces a hike of 2 percent in the existing prices of its Nissan Micra and sedan Nissan Sunny petrol version. The increase in prices will come into effect from the first month of next year that is January 2012. In the case of Nissan Micra, both its versions of petrol as well as diesel will see a price rise. On the other hand, Nissan Sunny will attract the hike in its petrol version only.

There is no hike in the diesel powered Sunny, which was launched on 12th December, it seems that company has already included the increased price in its initial costing of the diesel version. This can be said on the fact that some industry experts think that the cost of diesel run Sunny is much more than the projected, especially when compared to the pricing of petrol version.
Earlier, many automobile manufacturers in India such as General Motors, Ford Motors, Toyota Motors and Hyundai Motors have announced an up in prices from January 2012 onwards.

The diesel powered Sunny will face stiff competition with the likes of Hyundai Verna Fluidic and Ford’s all-new Fiesta and Skoda Rapid already fighting for space in the C segment of Indian auto sector.
Nissan Motors array of vehicles in India lacks a compact Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV), although it has premium SUV in the form of X-Trail, but due to its heavy pricing, it is unable to cater the masses. Sighting the same, the company intends to launch a compact vehicle on the lines of its French partner’s mini SUV Duster that is expected to be displayed at the 2012 Indian Auto Expo.
