Nissan Sunny AT launch anytime in the coming weeks
Nissan Sunny sedan is all set to get the automatic variant. The sedan has been waiting for this model since its launch and specially after Renault Scala AT got popular. It is a thing of worry for Sunny as its copycat car Scala got the AT version and it is a hit at Rs 9.06 lakh price while it fails to get some good numbers even when the entry-level variant of Sunny is available at Rs 6.02 ex-showroom. It is this urge that is now ripe and the Japanese car maker is all set to launch the Nissan Sunny AT in the coming weeks. The price of the AT variant of Sunny is expected to be around Rs 7.5 lakh and it will be competing with Honda City AT, Scala AT besides other competitors in the market.
Naturally the AT will be fitted on the petrol version of the car which is powered by 1.5 L 99 bhp engine. The same Scala’s CVT box is hoped to sport on this car, as the demand for automatic cars in India got wings in the recent past with the increase in congested traffic situations in the cities as well as the improved efficiency of the automatic cars. Some cars such as the Ford Fiesta AT have done exceedingly well as this car maker promises some astonishing warranty on the transmission and promises maintenance free driving for years. If Nissan is able to offer any of the kind of such offers it will be a great plus to the image of the AT Sunny.
It is quite possible that the price of Sunny AT will be able to make it the most desired automatic car in the segment and it could even beat Hyundai Verna and Ford Fiesta in the segment. Also, the current no EMI for the first year offer on Skoda Rapid and Volkswagen Vento will make it the market more stiff for other cars and specially new entrants such as the Sunny AT.
