Nissan Sunny export begins from India to West Asia
Nissan Sunny exports have begun and reportedly the first consignment has dispatched from the Ennore port in Chennai. Notably, the Nissan Sunny sedan was launched in India just four months ago and it has fetched tremendous response from the Indian car buyers. Enthused with the success of this Nissan car in India, the Japanese car maker has decided to export it to other countries from India. Compared to Nissan Sunny Petrol, Nissan Sunny Diesel has performed exceedingly well in India. The Rs 6.80 lakh start price the mid size premium sedan has its rivals including Maruti Swift Dzire, Honda city besides others.

As per the sources, the Japanese car maker has shipped 3452 units of Nissan Sunny sedan from India to West Asia from the Ennore port located in Chennai. This is the first shipment of the sedan from India. Besides the Nissan Sunny, Nissan has already been exporting Nissan Micra hatchback from India. In due course, exports of the sedan will be increased and it will also be reaching Africa, Middle East countries and some European markets from India. Currently the debut export of this sedan has been made to some west Asian countries.

Major factors that have led Nissan to export Sunny sedan from India to other countries include low cost of production in India besides India’s proximity with the west Asian countries. Also it is part of Nissan’s strategy to boost export to the tune of US $100 million in this year. Following these factors, Nissan is able to export over 85,000 units from India till date and has exported 14,403 units in January 2012 alone. Currently Nissan has one production unit which is shared with Renault India and is located at Oragandam near Chennai. It is here that Nissan and Renault cars are built and assembled.
