Nissan Sunny heads to Malaysia

Nissan Sunny and Nissan Micra have brought bumper sales that were perhaps unprecedented and unexpected. After having rocked India with the full size sedan Sunny and the robustly powered Micra Diesel car, Nissan seems to be preparing a Malaysia launch for the Sunny sedan. Recently, the Sunny car has been spotted testing in Malaysia and if reports come out to be true, experts expect the Sunny to rock at its new destination as well. After being launched in Thailand, the Sunny sedan’s Malaysia launch will be a major move by the Japanese car maker in order to make Sunny an international sedan.

Back in India, Nissan Sunny is considered as a prominent offering among big sized sedans and is popular for its ultimately big space for the occupants inside. Not only it looks big, it in fact is. Giving some envy to its opponents such as Ford Fiesta and Tata Manza besides segment leader Maruti Swift and meek player Mahindra Verito, the Nissan sedan offers a lot of features unheard and unknown in this price band. Now that Sunny is heading to Malaysia, Nissan should be expecting similar response and sources say that it will get it in no time. As per the update, the regular 1.2 L petrol and 1.5 L dCi diesel models will be moving to the new destination and in all probability, the same trims with some additional safety features will be duplicated in the Malaysian market as well.

Meanwhile, where Nissan is preparing its Sunny for Malaysia, its Japanese partner in India is preparing to set in motion the compact SUV segment with the Renault Duster launch tomorrow in New Delhi and Mumbai. The Duster is expected to be priced similar to a sedan and thus a healthy response is what is expected. in the meantime, reports have also come in that Ford is also planning a seven seater avatar of the Ford Ecosport SUV that it will be launching this year.
