Nissan Sunny kept sales chart ticking in March as well
Nissan Motor India Private Ltd (NMIPL), the Indian unit of the Japanese auto giant Nissan Motors, kept going on a high growth trajectory in the Indian market during the month of March 2012. The company managed to record a massive jump of 180 percent in its sales during the month March 2012.
The monthly sales of the company surged to a record high in March to 5880 units, much higher as compared to the sales figures of March 2011 when company sold a total of 2,101 units. This is the highest ever month sales figure of the company in the Indian market as the previous peak was achieved in February 2012, when company managed to sell 5,371 units of its cars.

Nissan Sunny, which is the latest entrant in the Indian market, emerged as a major contributor in the company’s sales during this month with registering a sales figure of 4,153 units. On the other hand, the sales of the mass segment hatchback Nissan Micra stood at 1,680 units. The remaining portfolio models, including premium sedan Nissan Teana, luxury Sports Utility Vehicle Nissan X-Trail and sports car Nissan 370Z, to which company imports as completely built units (CBU), accounted for the remaining sales of the firm.

While commenting on the massive growth registered by the firm during the month, Managing Director of Nissan Motor India Pvt. Ltd., Mr. Ishida Takayuki, said, that the Nissan India’s sales performance over the past 12 months suggests that Nissan as a brand is continuously capturing market share in India.
