Nissan Sunny, Micra and Evalia get pricier by up to 2.5 per cent
Nissan asserted price hike of selected models yesterday, the increase in these car prices ranges between 1.5 per cent to 2.5 per cent. As a result of increasing input cost the company announced this price hike. The changed car prices have been implemented retroactive to February 1, 2013. Company’s flagship hatchback Nissan Micra price has been raised by 1.5 per cent while Nissan Sunny price have been increased by 2 per cent. On the other hand Nisasn Evalia is now pricier by 2.5 per cent.
Company officials said that the price hike had been held back from last few months but as a result of increasing input cost Nissan had to hike car price across its range. Some of the other car makers too have announced price hike as a result of continual increase in input cost and decline in the value of rupee.
Nissan is expanding its product portfolio in India, the company also made an announcement regarding the launch of Nissan Sunny AT and Nissan Micra AT which Nissan plans to launch before the introduction of low cost brand Datsun in India. Following the footsteps of its French partner Renault, the company is also developing a compact SUV in India.
