This is for the first time that Nissan will be venturing into this segment of the Indian auto market. Presently, the company is busy in planning ways to increase sales of Nissan Micra. Nissan had a lot of expectations from the Nissan Micra but it failed to deliver. The main reason behind the failure is the high price of Nissan Micra and the lack of appropriate dealership in the country. Nissan plans to increase its dealership from 36 currently to 100 by 2013. Only 13,000 Nissan Micra's have been sold till May this year. The company plans to double this figure in the coming fiscal year 2011-2012.
