Nissan Sunny spotted undergoing tests in Malaysia

Nissan Sunny, known as Almera in Thailand  and Versa in America, has recently been spotted on the Malaysian shores, thereby, clearing the doubts that it is soon going to make debut in the Malaysian auto-market and would compete with the three-box rivals like Proton. No doubt, this notchback has proved to be one of the successful products for the auto-major, Nissan and its launch on the Malaysian shores would strengthen the car maker globally.

Moreover, car maker, Toyota is also looking forward to launch the Etios in the Malaysian market in coming years and on the other hand, Volkswagen too is eyeing to launch the Vento sedan in partnership with Proton. Though then name for Nissan Sunny on the Malaysian sub-continent is still bit doubtful, but sources have revealed that it is going to be powered by a 1.5 liter petrol engine that will have efficiency to produce peak power of 112 PS and max torque of 139 Nm. Nissan Sunny was first showcased by the company at Guangzhou, China in December 2010 and since then it has been introduced in major developed and developing markets, including India.

Nissan Motors has recently started the export of this compact sedan from its Oragadam plant, near Chennai. Moreover, it also manufactures this mid-size sedan in Thailand using the Micra’s 1.2 liter in-line.

At present, Nissan India has got a fleet of 5 cars on the Indian shores that inclues the Micra (hatchback), the Sunny (Mid-size sedan), the Teana (Premium Saloon), the Xtrail (SUV) and the 370Z (Premium Sports Car).
