Nissan Sunny to export in West Asia and Africa
Nissan Motors is planning to begin exporting Sunny, which is a locally made entry-level sedan. The countries being considered for export of Sunny, are West Asia and Africa, and the plan is to start exporting from early next year. According to The Managing Director of Nissan, Kiminobu Tokuyama, West Asia and Africa have big market have big market for such cars. Nissan sunny was launched in India last week. It is Nissan's second car which is locally made, the first being small car Nissan Micra.
Nissan Sunny's base model, the XE, carries a price tag of Rs. 5.78 lacs, whereas the high-end model, the XL, carries price tag of Rs. 6.69 lacs and top-end, the XV, is priced at Rs. 7.68 lacs.
Tokuyama said that The company's priority is to make cars for the local market, but it is also planning aggressive pursue of exporting volumes. He claimed that the company is planning to launch a multi-purpose vehicle for the Indian market, next year. It would be a MPV just as Toyota Innova. Nissan is planning to sell Sunny in India, West Asia and Africa, whereas Micra is being sold in European countries. The company is content with Nissan Micra's performance in European countries, as the figure reached 1 lac units, in just 11 months.
Nissan Motors has a plant at Oragadam, near Chennai, which has an annual capacity of 200,000 vehicles. The Japanese automobile company has 45 dealerships across the country. However, it is planning to expand it to 60 dealerships by the next year. The automobile company is planning to take the figure to 100, by the year 2013. The company has so far launched 5 models in the country: Nissan Micra, Nissan Teana, Nissan 370Z, Nissan X-Trail and Nissan Sunny.

I think the Nissan car looks very short on Indian Roads, that's why they are exporting in foreign countries.
