Porsche Unveils 911 GT3 RS in India

German car maker Porsche has unveiled 911 GT3 RS during an event held in Bengaluru at company’s official centre. The variant of 911 unveiled in Indian car market is developed strictly for driving on common roads. Mechanically it sports 4.0 litre, six cylinder engine that boosts the power of 493 bhp and torque of 480 Nm and mated with PDK transmission system. The naturally aspirated engine is capable for catching the speed of 100 kmph from standstill in the span of 3.3 seconds and mark of 200 kmph in duration of 10.9 seconds.

Referred as ‘masterpiece of intelligent light weight design’ the German car maker has made use light weight material to develop this luxurious product. Where it has made use of magnesium for developing its roof on the other side it has made use of carbon fibre for developing engine and luggage followed by different light weight materials to minimize its weight up-to ten kilograms as against its original version GT 3. The front fascia receives wheel arch air vents moving in upward direction towards the wings. An interesting feature of Porsche 911 GT 3 is wide tyres as standard feature.

Inside the cabin Porsche 911 GT3 RS receives bunch of new features in form of bucket seats, borrowed from carbon bucket seats offered in Spyder 918, bolted on roll cage at the back side of front seats, six point safety buttons, fire extinguisher, Porsche’s Track Precision app through smartphone. Apart from all these features the new 911 GT3 RS also sports the feature of declutching through ‘paddle neutral’ which is similar to operating clutch system like conventional gear shifting pattern and limits the speed by Pit Speed button.
