Renault Adds Climber Variant in Kwid

Flying high on the sky from the success enjoyed by Kwid since its inception, French car maker Renault has introduced one member in the fleet of this small car christened as “Climber” with starting price of Rs. 4.30 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi). The newly introduced variant is introduced in version empowered with 1.0 lite engine. The Climber variant is offered only in the top-end trim RXT (O) and is available in both manual and automatic transmission system. The automatic transmission system is priced Rs. 4.60 lakh, whereas the prices of both these trims are Rs.25,000 costlier than the regular RXT(O) variant.

Mechanically the Kwid Climber doesn’t get any technical update and continues to be empowered with 1.0 litre 3-cylinder engine that is capable of generating the power of 68PS at 5,500 rpm and torque of 91Nm at 4,250 rpm. It is equipped with five speed manual and automatic gear transmission respectively.  But, to make the Climber look different from the regular Kwid it has undergone various cosmetic changes on both the exterior and interior.

On exterior front it receives new bumper at both front and rear ends, faux bash plates, orange ORVM covers, roof rails, 13 inch alloy wheels and Climber sticker at the front doors. Inside the cabin it receives orange highlight on the door pads, seats and across the centre console and air conditioner vents. Along with it also gets chrome garnished throughout the instrument cluster and logo of climber at the beneath of steering wheel. With introduction of new variant in the Kwid family Renault has cleared its indication of captivating the prestige of Kwid to its full extent.
