Renault Fluence to have a new diesel engine soon
Renault Fluence by the French car maker has really transformed the D segment with the class apart features and highly performing diesel engine. Now that the Fluence has gained its popularity, the French car maker is expected to give the diesel powered car a new engine which is more powerful than the existing one. Priced between Rs 15 lakh to Rs 17 lakh and was launched in India as the first car by the French car maker after it broke ties with homegrown SUV maker Mahindra.

The existing 1.5 L K9K diesel engine is a 106PS engine with a max torque capacity of 240 Nm. However, the Renault sedan still lacks its power in comparison to Skoda Laura and specially the Chevrolet Cruze. Where Laura has a 140 PS engine the Cruze has 150 PS engine which is much more powerful than Fluence. Thus Renault is in a way wants to equip the car with sufficient power so that it may not lag behind in power in comparison to these models.

The improved version is expected to be launched this April. In addition to a newly tuned engine, the new Fluence is expected to have lot many features. It is believed that the proposed changes are in line with the feedback from customers who wished that they should get enough power if they are paying Rs 15 lakh or more. As per sources, the new Fluence could have 110 hp powerplant, 4PS more than the present one, under its hood that will make it stand in competition with its rivals such as Cruze, Laura and the addition of Hyundai Sonata. The engine will be 1461 cc K9K diesel one with turbo and particulate filter, all making it more powerful. A dual clutch transmission could also find a mate in the new engine and with this Fluence will closely rival Skoda Laura.
