Renault Koleos SUV to be expensive by Rs 1 Lakh

The French automaker’s Indian arm, Renault India has announced an upward revision in the price of its Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) Renault Koleos. The premium SUV of the company will now be expensive by 4.3 percent from January 1st 2012 onwards. The falling Indian rupee in comparison to American dollar is responsible for this augment in price of the off roader. The vehicle that was earlier tagged with the price of INR 22.99 Lakh will now cost around INR 23.99 Lakh (Ex Showroom, New Delhi), an increase of INR 1 Lakh. This was stated by the top official of France based company.

The Managing Director for Renault in India, Mr. Marc Nassif said that the company had to agree upon this tough call of increasing the price due to increase in the input cost of raw materials and declining Indian rupee. According to him, so far the firm was attracting the increasing costs, but from January onwards the consumer will also have to assist the company in sustaining the cost.
