Revamped Audi R8 supercar to debut in 2014

Audi, the German luxury car maker is going to introduce the next generation Audi R8 in 2014, followed by a roadster model of this car to be launched in year 2015. The sizzling, Audi R8 2014 will not have the turbo-charging, but it is speculated to maintain the high potential of the V8 and the V10 engine, like its current models, but will have additional refinements to mount up its power and torque. The 4.2 liter V8 engine model of R8 2014 is speculated to churn maximum power of 450 bhp, while the 5.2 liter V10 engine of this car will be efficient enough to toss peak power of 550 bhp. However, like the current Audi R8 models, the 2014 R8 will also have the 4.2 liter V8 engine as its base variant.

Expectations are that both the engines of R8 2014 will have seven speed dual clutch transmission that would enable this mean machine to churn extreme power and torque. Not only, this car is going to get additional power & torque, but also it is going have reduced weight. However, the Audi technicians are reported to be working on various measures in order to reduce the weight of this next generation roadster by more than 60 kilograms, which exceptionally well as per the supercar criteria. With the weight reduction, the new R8 is speculated to measure less than 1500 kilograms.

In order to reduce weight, aluminum and carbon fiber are expected to the main materials that are to be used in both the 2014 Audi R8 and the 2015 Audi R8 Spyder.
