Toyota Camry 2015 launched in Indian car market

Keeping its words true Japanese car maker Toyota Motors today launched the refreshed version of its luxurious sedan Camry in Indian car market with starting price of Rs. 31.92 lakh (ex-showroom price, New Delhi). The upgraded version is the hybrid version of this luxurious sedan and apart from this car maker has also launched the petrol version of the same with starting price of Rs. 28.80 lakh.

Addressing the launch of new Camry Mr. Naomi Ishii, Managing Director Toyota Kirloskar Motors, the Indian alliance of Japanese car maker said, since its inception in Indian car market 8000 Camry’s have been sold and new Hybrid Camry is the first Hybrid Camry that is locally developed in Indian car market. The main reason behind the introduction of Hybrid Camry according to Mr. Ishii is due to increasing awareness of Indian car enthusiasts towards Hybrid cars.

Under the hood there is no mechanical change and Camry continues the same 2.5 litre four cylinder petrol engine boosting the power of 179 bhp and torque of 233 Nm. The Hybrid version also uses the same engine but generates enhanced power of 202 bhp and torque of 270 Nm. The petrol trim is offered with six speed AT transmission system while the hybrid is offered with CVT and electric motor. On the exteriors it includes changes like new grille and bumper with huge chrome garnish at front fascia. At the side it receives new alloy wheels, the rear almost remains same, but includes LED lamps on tail lamps and DRLs. Inside the cabin it receives minute changes in the dashboard, blue lighting, enhanced touchscreen infotainment system and few more.
