Toyota Camry launched at Rs 23.80 lakh

The Japanese car maker has launched its worldwide best selling premium sedan new Toyota Camry today at an official function organized at the The Grand, in New Delhi. Hiroshi Nakagawa, MD Toyota Kirloskar Motor, Sandeep Singh and Michihiko Sato who are the chief functionaries of Toyota, were also present on the occasion and they expressed that they have high hopes with the new car. In India, the car will be taking on the recently launched Hyundai Sonata that is fastening its grip over the market along with Honda Accord and Skoda Superb. The new Toyota Camry price in India is Rs 23.80 lakh for the entry level car and the booking are opened today itself at Rs 50,000.

There are too many subtle changes on the new Camry but most significant is the 2.5 L VVT petrol engine that has a power of 178 hp which is greater than some of the SUVs in India as well. The maximum power along with a peak torque of 233 Nm is sufficient enough for the car to take to 100 kmph within seconds. The new Camry is more powerful than the outgoing model and it will not only add to its popularity but it will also strengthen its hold over the market. Since petrol and diesel fail to matter at this price band, Camry’s petrol avatar will be as hit as the other diesel models of the Superb or the Sonata. The Honda is already in petrol and is awaiting its diesel model this Diwali.
