Toyota car sales down 5 percent in September

It is when that Indian SUV maker Mahindra and India’s largest car maker Maruti are enjoying their efforts and the output in the form of car sales in September, the Japanese car maker Toyota could not do well. It has reported a decline by five percent in the September sales compared to last year. However, there has been 23 percent increase in the sales of Toyota Innova and the Toyota Fortuner too had a significant growth while Toyota Etios and Etios Liva saw a drop in sales. Industry experts as well as Toyota feels that the decline in growth of car sales is due to the feeble market conditions and that the car buying was at almost still phase as the festive season is ahead and everybody seems to have postponed the buying in October-November.

Toyota’s monthly car sales results are shocking as the Etios has registered a decline in sales. This is just unanticipated as the sedan Etios as well as the Etios Liva hatchback were both doing good till August and were the best selling models of the car maker. Another shocking thing is that Toyota Innova has proved its mettle again and has reaffirmed that small (Maruti Ertiga) is beautiful but big is better. As per the official sales figure, over 5858 units of Innova were sold in September whereas only 4765 units were sold in the same month last year.

The other car that has performed pretty well is Fortuner SUV. Also, the new face of the Fortuner is most liked by the car buyers and SUV lovers and this is clearly visible in its sales. Meanwhile, Toyota Camry that has just arrived in a new avatar has also picked up some pace and over 85 units of Camry were sold last month. The Toyota Corolla Altis too sell well during this period.
