Toyota Etios and Etios Liva price cut soon
It seems that Toyota India is banking high on the Toyota Etios sedan and Toyota Etios Liva hatchback. After having settled in the segment and selling in numbers, the Etios sisters also seem to have become the hot favorites of the car buyers in the segment. Car sales reports of June suggest that these two cars have survived the slowdown wave and have posted decent numbers on the sales chart. In fact these two performed prominently in Toyota car sales in India. Toyota Innova being the best selling Toyota car in the country.

Now the car maker is soon to start producing engine and transmission for these two cars so as to boost production and also to being the price further down. Already, these two cars are priced quite affordably and a further drop in price is what the industry experts believe to be in the offing. Meanwhile, the new plant will also ease the pressure on the car maker as the Liva and Etios sedan are being exported to South Africa and other countries from India. Furthermore, as soon as the engines will be produced in India, the car will have a production boost as well as it will be more affordable and will also be decreasing the import duty burden on the car maker as it is importing the engine and transmission currently.

The boost in production, exports and a price drop all signal red for the rivals of these two Toyota cars. Where Maruti Swift and Maruti Swift Dzire production is in doldrums, it is far more a change for Etios and Etios Liva to make their way aggressively into the Indian car market. Besides, where the in house built engine driven price cut will be bringing sleepless nights for Chevrolet Spark, Hyundai i10 and Tata Indica eV2 specially besides the Etios will strongly force Hyundai Accent, Mahindra Verito and other rivals to revise their price.
