Toyota Etios Cross seen testing on Pune roads

Couple of days back we have reported that Japanese car giant Toyota has introduced two new models in diesel variant of Toyoto Etios Liva hatchback, and now it is rumored that company is testing its new hatchback Etios Cross on Pune roads. Company is already selling this hatchback in Brazil and Argentina and carries most of its features from Liva, especially its exteriors.

The upcoming Etios Cross in Indian car market will be launched only in diesel variant and will be equipped with same 1.43 litre D-4D engine which already exists in Etios sedan and Etios Liva hatchback. After launch in Indian car market this hatchback will compete against Volkswagen Cross Polo and forthcoming Punto Cross from Volkswagen. An interesting feature about Etios Cross is that it will be first right hand driving car introduced by Japanese car maker in India.

It is expected that Toyota kirloskar, the Indian arm of Japanese auto giant may showcase the same car during the upcoming Indian Auto Expo 2014, scheduled to be held in 2014. One thing which might be of concern for company is its pricing because pricing is an important factor which determines the future of any vehicle in Indian car market to certain extent. However it is expected that as it will be launched against VW Cross Polo it will be priced between Rs. 8 lakh to Rs. 10 lakh.
