Toyota Etios Diesel mileage unveiled, 23.59 kmpl as per ARAI
As the diesel versions of Toyota Etios Sedan and Etios Liva are on the verge of being launched in the country, and there are celebrations all over, there is one more reason to add to the celebration. As per the ARAI test report, both the variants of Toyota Etios will deliver a mileage of 23.59. This being testified by ARAI, it will a major role in the success of both Toyota Etios sedan and hatchback Toyota Etios Liva.
These cars will feature the same 1.4L D-4D common rail, turbodiesel engine, which is used in the Toyota Corolla. But because of the different techniques and geomterically fixed turbochargers, these engines will deliver better mileage.
The Etios sedan and Etios Liva's low costs are a result of the cost cutting programmes undertaken by Toyota, to get an upper hand over its competitors. The cost cutting programmes have also resulted in loss of features and quality. The engine of Etios is noisy and lacks the punch. Whereas, it competitors like Maruti Swift and Ford Figo have quieter and performance oriented engines.
Moreover, the interiors quality and the finishing have also been compromised on the grounds of cost cutting programmes by Toyota. The company has been critisized because of these practices. But it hasn't prevented the company from continuing the same.
However, the lesser price from its competitors and the main features of the car, including power steering, ABS, Airbags (Optional), Spacious Interiors, and the brand name of Toyota will definitely help the car be a hit in the market.
