Toyota Etios; packed for export to South Africa by March 2012

One of the world’s largest automobile manufacturer; Toyota, is on the verge of creating landmark in its India operations, with the announcement to export India-made cars to South Africa. The overseas selling by the company is scheduled to commence in the month of March next year. Initially the petrol run variants of Etios sedan and Etios hatchback Liva are lined up for the export to South Africa.

This is the first time when Toyota Kirloskar; a joint venture between Toyota of Japan and Indian firm Kirloskar, will be selling its India-made vehicles overseas. And this will open new sort of opportunities for the Japanese company, as said by company official. The official didn’t reveal the size of consignment which will be exported to South Africa.

Managing Director at Toyota Kirloskar, Mr. Hiroshi Nakagawa, stated that the vehicles will incorporate some alterations to suit the requirement of the car buyer and conditions there in South Africa.

A senior representative also informed that being a Japan based company it is producing and selling its car in India and exporting the county made vehicles to the other corner of the world reflects the expansion of Toyota brand around the globe.

The company manufactures its Etios range of diesel powered cars from its plant located near Bengaluru. The factory produces nearly 80,000 units at present every year, and the company is striving hard to increase its production up to 120,000 units by the year 2012.

Apart from Etios range it sells MUV Innova, premium SUV Fortuner and premium sedan Camry in India.
