Toyota Etios range cars export to South Africa from next week
Toyota Kirloskar Motors (TKM), an Indian unit of the Japanese auto giant Toyota Motors, is all set to commence the exporting operations of its popular mass segment models – hatchback Toyota Etios Liva and sedan Toyota Etios to the South African market from next month. The first consignment of the Etios series of models will be dispatched to the South African market on 4th April. It is to be mentioned here that Toyota Motors is planning to launch both of these Etios series models in the South Africa on 21st May 2012, where the cars will be positioned as the company’s entry level portfolio models.

The Etios model that will be exported to the SA market will be modified in terms of both engine system and variants, so that it can made compatible with the needs and requirement of the buyers of these market along with providing high performance on SA road conditions.

The Etios will be filling the gap in Toyota’s SA portfolio, which was created by the phase-out of the compact hatchback Tazz about 5 years ago. The South Africa is the first market where the company will be exporting this car model from India. The company looks forward to further expand the foot prints of this model in the markets like Brazil, Indonesia and Thailand. In Thai market, the company will be launching the Toyota Etios hatchback as a part of Thai Eco car project later this year.
Meanwhile, in India, the Etios Liva hatchback model is gradually strengthening its position among a long list of rivals including the likes of Maruti Swift, Ford Figo, Honda Brio and Volkswagen Polo.
