Toyota Etios to be rejuvenated
Launched with huge expectations Toyota Etios from Japanese car maker did not succeed in enjoying the success speculated by it in Indian car market. The main reason behind its slow sale according to industry experts was the style which could not grab attention of buyers in Indian car market. Now it is reported that Japanese auto giant is to develop the new avatar Etios sedan which would be designed according to expectations of generation next buyers. It is speculated that the new Etios would be launched during the second quarter of next year.
Launched in both petrol and diesel variants, the price of base model of Toyota Etios is priced Rs. 5.39 lakh with price of top end variant offered with price tag of Rs. 8.08 lakh (ex-showroom price New Delhi). The major contenders of Etios in Indian car market are Swift Dzire from MSIL, Amaze from Honda Motors, Verito from Mahindra and Sail from Chevrolet.
In the words of Mr. Hisayuki Inoue, CEO, Asia Pacific Operations, Toyota Motors, Design was the major drawback of the existing model of Etios and the new Etios will be miles ahead from it. He also added that at present company is seeking suggestions from customers and understanding market requirements after which it will introduce the necessary changes in the design of Toyota Etios.
