Toyota Etios twins barge in at South Africa

Toyota Motors’ Etios twins will soon be seen running on the South African roads. Yesterday only the first capacious consignment of Toyota Etios arrived in South Africa.  A huge consignment containing hundreds of Toyota Etios twins reached the automotive terminal of the Durban harbour yesterday, as per SA media reports. Toyota Kirloskar Motors, the Indian subsidiary of Toyota Motors had sent the first shipment of the Toyota Etios twins to South Africa. Toyota India is on the verge of becoming a preeminent exporter of Etios car with export quantity likely to surpass 20,000 units per year.

Speaking on this auspicious occasion, Nigel Ward, Senior Vice President for the manufacturing Support Group at Toyota South Africa Motors, threw light on the worldwide temperament of vehicle production and the significance of Toyota in this major role. He expressed his views on the commencement of the export of Etios sedan and Liva hatchback and stated that the arrival of Etios sedan and Liva hatchback to South African market is a clear indication of Toyota’s capacity to emerge a key manufacturing and export pivot in the global market.

He further stated that Toyota as of now is exporting its world class products like Hilux, Toyoata Fortuner and Toyota Corolla vehicles to 57 nations all around the globe but the company eyes at accelerating this number along with maintaining the quality of its products. With the commencement of exports of Etios twins to South Africa, the company has registered its name as one of the key manufacturers in the export business.

Mr. Calvyn Hamman, Senoir Vice President, Sales Marketing at Toyota South Africa Motors was also present at the occasion and he also expressed his views on this auspicious occasion. He said that Toyota Etios and Toyota Etios LIva will further reinforce Toyota’s presence in the entry level segment. Etios twins are pulling good numbers in the Indian car market and are expected to get the same response in South African auto market too.
