Toyota Etios twins Brazil launch round the corner
After having stunned the India car market with its Toyota Etios sedan and Etios Liva hatchback, the Japanese car maker is ready to rock Brazil soon. Notably, the cars are being exported to South Africa already and it is expected that in Brazil, the car will be able to replicate the history it has created in India. As per an estimate, over 1 lakh Etios sedan and hatchback cars have been sold in India and both of these are gradually overtaking the sedan and hatchback market. Two things are helping these cars dominate. First is the price and second is the features offered at this price.

The latest updates about the Etios twins is that the duo will be launched in Brazil in September or latest by October as local production will be beginning soon at the Sorocaba plant in Sao Paulo. The plant has an installed capacity of 70k units per year and the pre launch response in the survey has been exceptional. As there is striking similarity between the Indian Etios and the Brazilian Etios, both have almost similar features. But Toyota has made some changes to the Brazilian model in order to make it look different from that of the Indian model. The changes are – different tailgate and stop light while the interiors have more safety features including active headrests.

In addition to this, the Brazilian Etios twins will have steering mounted audio control apart from new body colors and a choice of interior colors as well. Back in India, the Etios sedan is giving a tough time to Maruti Swift Dzire and Tata Indigo eCS besides other sedan. Especially in the taxi segment, the Etios sedan and hatchback have made their strong presence. The Etios hatchback on the other hand is giving a tough fight to Maruti Swift which is the segment leader.
