Toyota to launch 8 new cars, Duster, Quanto rival soon
Car giant Toyota is all set to launch eight new cars in India and Brazil. Already the car maker is enjoying the magic spell of Toyota Etios and Toyota Etios Liva in these markets. As per the updates, the car maker will be launching one crossover SUV based on Etios. The car will be giving a straight fight to Mahindra Quanto, Renault Duster, Ford Ecosport and Maruti XA Alpha by that time it will launch in India. The reports also suggest that the Etios platform based Toyota SUV will be a compact SUV and will be positioned below the Toyota Fortuner and thus it will address a segment in which Toyota lacks any product. Hoped to be priced between Rs 8 lakh to Rs 8.5 lakh, the new Toyota SUV is expected to be an instant hit as by that time the segment will be very hot with so many attractive offerings.

The Toyota’s new SUV for India launch date and other specifications are still unknown but it is sure that the segment which is still untouched by the car maker will soon receive an offering. Also, the car maker is expected to launch a mini MPV in the country that could take on the Maruti Ertiga and other upcoming MPVs such as Chevrolet Enjoy. This MPV will be positioned below the Toyota Innova and in all probability it will be highly a value addition product to the existing line up of Toyota cars in India.

No doubt India and Brazil are the two markets that are growing in leaps and bounds and every other car maker sees an opportunity in here. Also, these are the markets that have potential for new cars and still there are certain segments that are either unknown or are little explored. The compact SUV segment is on such and the other is the ultra low cost hatchback segment. Not only Toyota but other car makers such as Volkswagen, Fiat, Peugeot and General Motors eye the compact SUV segment as highly lucrative as it not only is an easy update from hatchback, it also is still unexplored in India.
