Toyota to restructure its management
Toyota Kirloskar Motors has officially announced that it will be restructuring its management arrangement in order to expand itself in the Indian car market. Furthermore, the company has plans to establish its Toyota Etios brand here as soon as possible. According to the changes done in the management, the current deputy MD, Mr. Shekar Viswanathan has been promoted to vice chairman of external affairs, whereas the deputy MD of sales, marketing and consumer service, Mr. Sandeep Singh is now deputy managing director of DMD and Chief Operating Officer.

After being promoted, Mr. Sandeep Singh will now look at the sales, marketing, commercial division and consumer service of Toyota India. Another change that would be seen in the management of Toyota Kirloskar India is that Mr. Masanori Takahashi, who was the deputy MD of technical and purchase, will be now seen as the DMD and COO of the same department. He would now look after the manufacturing, vendor development and technical purchase along with supplier support.

Also, the above mentioned officials will continue to be present in the company’s board. The current DMD of manufacturing, Shigeru Tomonaga will now be the executive advisor to Toyota Kirloskar Motors and also the chief of supplier support. These changes will come in effect from 1st of January 2013. The changes have been done to expand the business in India. The company has dropped a few hints that it will be soon expanding to small towns and cities along with amplifying the production capacity at its manufacturing unit located near Bangalore. TKM foresees great potential for increasing volumes for their current models via spreading out to more places. Right now, Toyota India has 200 outlets across the country and it plans to add 30 more during the first quarter of 2013.
