Volkswagen Cross Up! unveil at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show
Volkswagen’s entry level car Up! is all set to be unveiled in a crossover garb at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show. Soon after the Volkswagen Cross UP will enter production and sales will commence soon. With the SUV version in, the Up! will have power boost as well as body makeup in line with the fresh blood in veins. A raised stature apart from some body and suspension changes are on cards and it is said that all these changes have been finalized and the production ready version will be displayed at the Show. Notably, the Volkswagen Up is also highly awaited in India but following the low sentiment in the Indian car industry the car maker refrains from launching it.
With the addition of Crossover variant, the hatchback will add much value to itself. Currently, the Volkswagen Up is available in CNG, petrol versions and the electric car variant is also in the making and awaiting a launch in Germany sometime later this year. Similarly, sometime near this Cross Up! model will also go on sale. In order to give it a distinct appearance than the hatchback, the car maker has given it enough ground clearance to tackle some soft raoding experience along with new engine tuning and power output to 74 bhp.
It is said that Volkswagen will be adding the CrossUP to the range of CrossPolo, CrossGolf and CrossTouran models it has launched under the Cross moniker. Though the same engine will also power this car but it has been tuned to output 74 bhp which is somewhat more than sufficient for a car of this size. Apart from this, there will also be certain stylistic upgrades including prominent wheel arches, roof rails, big alloys and new console apart from ABS and EBD as standard and giving the car a better positioning price wise. The Cross Up! price is expected to be around Rs 10 lakh in Indian rupee equivalent.
