Volkswagen Up spied, launch round the corner

It seems that Volkswagen has finally decided to bring in the Volkswagen Up Small car to India. An uncamouflaged car has been spotted on the Pune roads recently and this indicates that the car is nearing its launch in India. Notably, the UP is a small car by the German car maker and it will be the most affordable car as well and will be priced below Volkswagen Polo. The Up cars thus spotted were of the three door and five door styling. Meanwhile, experts suggest that since India is predominantly a five door hatchback market, the three door hatchback car will introduce the industry to a whole new body styling. Now that the Up has been spied, auto industry is expecting an early date launch.

Notably, VW has never surely said that it will be launching the car in India but it has unveiled it at the Auto Expo. The unveil has triggered a series of speculations about the Up! car and then came the VW statement that it is still considering the car for India but it will first undergo feasibility survey for it. Same was also said for the Skoda Citigo small car. However, the fate of Citigo is still undisclosed but it is strongly said that it will also be launched in India soon. Both the Citigo as well as the Up small car will be targeting the hatchbacks in India such as Fiat Palio, Hyundai i20, Maruti Swift and others.

The Up! will be launched in India in both the 3 door and 5 door body styling and it is expected that the 5 door model will be a craze among car buyers as this will be like the conventional hatchbacks popular in India while the 3 door Up in India will also has considerably well response as it will be new to the segment.
