Volvo eyeing on 3rd position in luxury car bazaar by 2020

The Volvo Car Corporations is pepping up for its plans in India and is aiming for the 3rd position in the Indian luxury car market by the year of 2020. Volvo Auto India has been working hard of its products and has plans to launch number of entry level cars in the luxury segment of the Indian car market. This would amplify its dealership network and intensify volumes as well. The reason behind this increased focus in the country from the headquarters is that the luxury car bazaar in India is likely to reach 1, 50,000 units by the year of 2020. According to the marketing and PR Director of Volvo Auto India, Mr. Sudeep Narayan is expected to take the annual target sales to 20000 units. Right now the firm manages to sell about 326 units of Volvo cars per year and it is trying it best to take it to 800 units every year.

In 2011, BMW dominated the Indian luxury car market with Mercedes and Audi grabbing the 2nd and 3rd position respectively. However, by the time the first three months of the fiscal year ended, Audi took over the second spot. When enquired about the assembly of the Volvo cars to Volvo Auto India, Mr. Narayan said that if they achieve their 2020 target, they might go for assembly of their products as well. But as of now nothing is final.

Right now, Volvo Auto India sells the luxurious Volvo S80, Volvo S60 sedans along with SUVs like Volvo XC90 and Volvo XC60 in the Indian car market. To further built their brand value, Volvo is collaborating itself with the famous fashion designer, Ritu Beri for LFW along with organizing golf play-offs. So, All the best to Volvo from our team!
